Newton

Newton is a suburban city 7 miles west of Boston with an estimated population of 88,000. Founded in 1630, it is known for its many tree-lined streets and open spaces for recreation. Newton has one of the top ranked school systems in the state. There are thirteen officially recognized villages of Newton, each having its own downtown center, post office and a unique zip code.

The suburbs of Watertown and Waltham are to the north of Newton, and Weston, Wellesley and Needham are to the west. The top recreational attractions in Newton are Hemlock Gorge Reservation for hiking and Hammond Park Reservation for canoeing, kayaking, hiking, fishing and educational programs.
